In January 1997, I was working in an audio store and was tipped off by a fellow Jos that they were looking for an employee at a parking vendor.
Jos had already accepted a job elsewhere but still had the interview scheduled with this parking supplier. I pretended to be Jos and went for an interview. This was the first time I met Eric Smulders and after this interview I was hired immediately. Sorry I have to confess something. I am not Jos. I don't care, Eric said. If you want to work you are welcome. From that moment on, the infection with parking and the Smulders family began.
This was also the period when I met Jimmy Smulders who was doing an internship in the same department. In addition, Sarah Smulders supported the implementation of the new ERP application.
There were plenty of opportunities for advancement and so I started as an assembly worker, test worker, inside sales, work planner, project manager, business office manager, operations manager and after sales manager. Sometime in May 2015 Eric called again if I wanted to work at IP Parking. "Yes" was my 1st response and the rest is history.
In particular, the continually innovative view of parking, the family feel, the approachability and mutual interaction, and also the enormous passion and dedication to parking from Jimmy and Eric make it very special. That's what you want to be a part of and commit to for "life." If you can go to work with pleasure, you also go home with pleasure! In 1 word: Great!
