Erik, Hardware Designer

In September 2016 I was approached by IP Parking asking if I was interested in working the repair department. Previously I hardly knew IP Parking but they had piqued my interest immediately.

Although I had a great time at my previous employer, where I worked for 17 years, I was very curious about the position and the new challenge at IP Parking.
Therefore, I agreed to an interview, initially completely non-committal and just to get an orientation from both sides. After this interview, I was very excited. As of January 1, 2017, I started working at IP Parking.

After setting up the repair department and becoming more familiar with IP Parking technology, I was given the opportunity to become an Assembly and Repair Supervisor.
With the knowledge of electronics and hardware, this was a great opportunity within IP Parking to take the next step in my own development. Shortly after, the position of Hardware Designer became available and soon I was asked if I was interested in this position. There was no need to think about this for long, this opportunity to improve my personal and work skills immediately piqued my interest.

As a Hardware designer, I work for the Product Management department. We design new products, improve existing products, make changes from suppliers and provide documentation for our intranet.
In my work, I use Solidworks a lot. This is a 3D CAD drawing program, for which I had the opportunity to take various training courses to expand my personal knowledge, which I see as a real addition.
The regular interaction between colleagues from different departments is also very pleasant.

Working at IP Parking provides me with challenging work within a pleasant work atmosphere, nice colleagues, good Friday afternoon drinks and staff activities.

All this bodes well for the future.
