Tim, college student

Tim (20 years old), a third-year college mechanical engineering student, completed a six-month internship at IP Parking in the FAT department as part of his studies.

Besides writing his school assignment, Tim supported in various FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing) work, which gave him the opportunity to work independently as well as gain experience in a team environment. Moreover, he contributed to designing a system that makes FAT work more efficient and easier. He provided a complete 3D model, including a 2D drawing package, for storing connections.

In his assignment, Tim saw opportunities to reduce the turnaround time of the factory takeaway and better organize the cables. The goal was to develop a 3D design in SolidWorks for a system setup that increases efficiency while making the workplace safer by better handling cables.

The system Tim designed makes it possible to roll up the connections that come down from fixed locations so that they no longer cause a nuisance. This eliminates the need to loop cables under pallets, which makes positioning new projects easier and saves time.

Tim looks back positively on his internship period: "I worked with great colleagues and enjoyed coming to the company every day. It was a learning time where I gained experience in a large-scale company, which improved my communication and planning skills. In addition, I was able to learn a lot in the technical field by actively participating in FAT work."

We would like to thank Tim for his dedication and contribution with his work and assignment. IP Parking is always open to new talent, so feel free to contact us to find out about opportunities!
