Working as a Backend Software Engineer
We are looking for a hands-on Backend Software Engineer to join our Mobile Parking Application team in Porto.
In this role, you’ll help design, develop, and maintain the backend services, APIs, and databases that power our mobile parking platform and the supporting back-office systems.
You’re a pragmatic software engineer who enjoys working on practical solutions within a mature production environment. You take responsibility for your work, write high-quality code, and find fulfillment in improving systems used by thousands of customers every day.
Together with developers, Product Owners, and QA Engineers, you’ll work on new features, technical improvements, and the ongoing development of our platform.

Your Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain backend services and RESTful APIs.
- Writing clean, maintainable, and high-quality code in C# and .NET.
- Developing integrations between mobile applications, back-office systems, and third-party services.
- Working with large operational databases, optimizing queries, and improving performance.
- Contribute to database improvements, migrations, and operational maintenance.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and development tools.
- Resolving production issues and improving system reliability.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices.
- Share your knowledge and contribute to the team’s continued technical development
You’ll play a key role in keeping our backend scalable, secure, and maintainable as our organization continues to grow.
Who are we looking for?
- A completed bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of professional experience in software development.
- Extensive experience with C# and the .NET ecosystem.
- Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and backend services.
- Solid knowledge of SQL Server or other relational databases, including query optimization and performance tuning.
- Experience with cloud environments and modern DevOps practices.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and version control systems.
- Understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and scalable system designs.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- A proactive attitude with a strong sense of responsibility and a focus on quality.
- Excellent command of both Portuguese and English, both spoken and written.
Pre
- Experience with Microsoft Azure.
- Experience with high-volume transactional systems.
- Knowledge of event-driven architectures, messaging systems, or microservices.
- Experience with improving existing or legacy production systems.
- Experience with backends for mobile applications (iOS and/or Android).
- Experience with AI-powered development tools, such as GitHub Copilot, or AI-powered testing tools.
